You can compare infrared heaters that heat the same apporximate area, cost reletively the same and more.  Some have asked me if infrared heaters are efficient and if they will actually save money on your heating bill.  The short answer is yes, but here is the thing, infrared heaters are efficient as a secondary heating source.  They aren’t designed to be a primary heat source and therefore are not an efficient heater if you attempt to use them that way, and Yes, I’ve tried it.

Does the Life Smart Heater really work? We received that question the other day and thought we would look into it. The lifesmart heater is said to be an ultra efficient heating source. In product information I’ve read it mentioned that their 1500 model will heat up to 1000 square feet. I like how the best infrared heaters always like to claim how many square feet they will heat. I can tell you it will depend ENTIRELY on how energy efficient you space is to begin with…Period.

They say 30% to%50 percent saving on heating bills can be expected from the lifesmart quartz infrared heater, personally I’d say 30% is closer to accurate, but that is just my opinion.  If they say 30 to 50, they probably have test to back it up. They also come with a lifetime air filter, which is a neat advantage of infrared heaters I think.  Another feature of the lifesmart heater is the “warm up” quickly with 4 copper heat exchanges, some of the best infrared heaters on the market (like eden-pure) only have three. The LifeSmart also boast a 25,000 hour lifespan on its heating elements which puts it right up there at the top of class.

This life smart infrared heater review is about the top lifesmart heater which is a 1500 Watt heater.  In case you were wondering that is about the same number of watts used to run a standard hair dryer.  And this thing puts out around 5100 btu’s.  In otherwords it packs a punch.
